We’re thrilled to share with you the latest update on our much-anticipated well-being garden project! Work has officially begun, and we couldn’t be more excited about the transformation taking place on our school grounds.
Led by our Pastoral Lead, Mrs Carter, the project has been organised with the pupils at the heart of all plans. As a well-being area, Mrs Carter has continued to uphold the positive impact that this space will have on the well-being of everyone within our community.
First and foremost, we are delighted to share that Mrs Carter has enlisted the expertise of garden designer Caroline Kail to bring our vision to life. Caroline joined us in mid-January and has been hard at work crafting a design that promises to be both beautiful and functional, aimed at fostering a sense of tranquility and connection with nature for our pupils and wider community.
Caroline’s current focus is on preparing the ground for the forthcoming planting phase. This involves tasks such as turning over the soil and ensuring it’s primed and ready to support the diverse array of plant species that will soon call our garden home.
In addition to her hands-on work, Caroline has also produced a detailed drawing of the garden plan, complete with the selection of plant species that will be incorporated into the design. While we’re incredibly excited about the vision Caroline has outlined, we must also emphasise that the final result may deviate slightly from the initial plan. As with any outdoor project, adjustments may need to be made based on factors such as weather conditions and unforeseen challenges encountered during the implementation process.
We extend another special thank you to Grant Bailey, who is a parent at the school. Grant has kindly offered to build some planters and trellises, giving up his free time in order to do so. We are very grateful for his expertise, contributions and support of this project.
We want to assure you that the well-being garden is a top priority for us, and we are committed to ensuring its success. While there may be delays or changes along the way, please know that our ultimate goal remains unchanged: to create a nurturing outdoor space where our students can thrive and flourish.
As work progresses, we will continue to keep you updated every step of the way. We invite you to share in our excitement as we watch our vision for the well-being garden come to life over the coming months!
