Upper Prep

The Upper School at Sherborne House provides an academic and supportive environment in which all children are fully prepared for their 11+ entry exams and for life beyond Year 6. During these key years of schooling, the focus for the form tutors, academic tutors and specialists is to ensure that all children are academically stretched and suitably supported where necessary . The staff within the Upper School aim to foster a love of learning through a thematic curriculum, all while striving for academic success. The children in Year 4-6 benefit from specialised teaching in Performing Arts, PE, Modern and Foreign Languages (French, Spanish and German in Year 6). The children also attend weekly sporting fixtures against other local Prep schools and have opportunities to attend National ISA competitions. In the Upper School, the children are actively encouraged to showcase their leadership skills through the STEPS to leadership programme and by applying for senior prefect roles in Year 6.
