Sherborne House ~ where a broad and balanced curriculum combines with dedicated staff to ensure that your child is able to thrive and to become an independent, curious and confident learner. Expectations are high, both socially and academically, and our wide-ranging curriculum enables all pupils to develop their individual talents in a warm, familial environment.

In October 2023, a parent described us as having “a family feel and a warm, caring atmospher”’ as well as, ‘The school is dedicated to finding each child’s spark and to establish how they can best learn”.

Throughout the school, Form Tutors track academic progress and provide pastoral care. Class sizes remain small, ensuring that each child benefits from a high degree of individual care and attention, both inside and outside the classroom. The school encourages constant communication with parents regarding the progress of their child, and formal reporting procedures are offered termly. In addition, parents are always welcome to speak to teachers on an informal basis, should any concerns arise.

Sherborne House is organised into Lower School and Upper School.

  • Lower School ~ Year 1 to Year 3
  • Upper School ~ Year 4 to Year 6

As the children move up through the school, they are taught increasingly by subject specialists. This enables the pupils to benefit from the expertise of highly-experienced specialist staff, and to develop the independence and confidence needed for their future education.

As children progress through the years, they are provided many opportunities to grow and to demonstrate their leadership qualities. A variety of roles such as School Council, Digital Leader, or Well-being Ambassador are on offer.

In Year 6, pupils are provided the opportunity to become a Senior Prefect (Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy or Deputy Head Girl), a Head of House (Beeches, Pines or Oaks), or a Sports Captain.
