At Sherborne House, we are incredibly proud of every child’s journey, and this year’s Year 6 class of 2026 is no exception. With 23 pupils applying to an impressive 19 different secondary schools, their ambitions, individuality and determination have truly shone through.
We are delighted to share that the vast majority of our pupils secured a place at their first-choice school. This fantastic outcome reflects not only their hard work, but also the thoughtful guidance, tailored preparation and unwavering support provided by our staff throughout the 11+ journey.

A Personalised Approach
At Sherborne House, we understand that there is no single “right” path, only the right path for each individual child. Our bespoke approach to 11+ preparation ensures that every pupil is supported academically, emotionally and practically, enabling them to approach their next steps with confidence.
This tailored approach is part of what we call The Sherborne Advantage — our commitment to small class sizes, exceptional pastoral care and individualised academic support. It ensures every child is known, nurtured and challenged, giving them the confidence and skills to thrive not only in the 11+ process, but well beyond it.
From exam preparation and interview practice to helping families navigate school choices, our experienced team works closely with each child to ensure they are fully prepared for the opportunities ahead. Families interested in learning more about our approach to 11+ preparation are warmly encouraged to get in touch with our Academic and Upper School Lead, Mr Alex Caunt, at a.caunt@sherbornehouse.co.uk.
Looking Ahead
While we are immensely proud of these outcomes, what matters most is that each child leaves Sherborne House as a confident, capable and curious learner—ready to thrive in their next chapter.
We wish our Year 6 pupils every success as they move on to their chosen schools. We have no doubt they will continue to make us proud.
“I have passed the Embley and The Gregg exams, but have chosen to go to Embley on a Music scholarship. I am very grateful to this amazing school, without the help from my teachers I might not have done as well as I did.”
“I was offered places at multiple schools, including an academic scholarship, and I’m excited to be going to my first choice. I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve had at Sherborne House.”
