The children have learnt about four main types of rocks: igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary and man-made. The children also watched some clips about the different types of rocks and they learnt how each are formed. They thought about which rocks are natural and which are man-made and sorted them. The children brought in some of their own rocks to share with their friends and explained to each other why they were special.
For Extreme Earth, the children thought carefully about what they already knew about Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Tsunamis and storms. The children recorded everything they knew in their books - pictures and facts! The children also watched some video clips about volcanic eruptions and tsunamis.For the super Stone Age, the children thought carefully about the order that things happened a long time ago and sequenced the timeline. The children also generated their own questions for what they wanted to find out about in this topic.
