Year 3 have had a very busy week in maths collecting data on their favourite school lunches.

After collecting the data, the children organised the information into a tally chart and pictogram. They independently decided what intervals their pictures would be counting in, based on the data collected.

As well as this, the children also had the opportunity to create their own human bar chart, learning about the x and y axis. This visual representation helped the children to analyse and compare the data they had collected.

The children were then able to use the new ICT programme, Purple Mash, to recreate their bar chart on the computer. Year 3 were very excited to explore Purple Mash and the programme 2Graph for the first time and enjoyed linking their maths topic with ICT.

Year 3 are now experts at creating online graphs and were very proud to print this work to go into their maths books!
