The children developed their writing skills further by writing a recount about the day in the life of a rainforest animal.
In Talk 4 Writing, the children have been developing their wider understanding of applying contractions, paragraphs, time connectives and adverbs to extend their writing further. In their English lessons, the children created a story map and learnt the recount of ‘The day in the life of a sloth’. They used this as the basis for their own recount and chose their own animal to write about during the innovation stage. Over the last three weeks, the children have enjoyed applying their knowledge of rainforest animals from their Geography and Science lessons, to their writing. They have enjoyed the opportunity of persevering with the presentation of their handwriting in preparation for a classroom display.
