Year 1 have been enjoying learning about capacity through practical and magical tasks!
Year 1 have been enjoying learning about capacity, including understanding how to read the scale on a measuring jug and understanding what millilitres and litres are. The children have been very excited when presented with magic spell recipes. They had to read the amounts needed and follow a recipe, adding each revolting ingredient as they measured them.
The children have also thoroughly enjoyed the first half of their Space topic. They have begun their new Talk for Writing unit of work and are working towards writing their own newspaper article about the first moon landing. Discovering more about Neil Armstrong and his incredible mission has been very exciting, with lots of role play activities and characterisation work which has brought this historical event to life in the Year 1 classrooms!
