| Reception
We have been mathematical detectives finding ways to solve a range of problems.
This week, Reception were introduced to word problems. We used our detective skills to identify the important information in the sentence that would help us to solve the problem.
We discussed the words which were important and identified the word in each sentence which told us we needed to add.
After highlighting the important parts of the sentences we practised writing number sentences. We worked hard to put the + and = symbols in the correct places.
We then moved on to solving open ended questions and we enjoyed using and applying their knowledge of number bonds in a range of ways.
