In the Nursery toddler room, the children have shown a keen interest in traditional stories.
The children have started to take on roles of different characters as the stories begin to influence their games and activities. In the construction area, they have been exploring ways to build towers, walls and houses, just like the Three Little Pigs. While outside, they have been developing their physical skills as they climb and balance over the Troll’s bridge like the Three Billy Goats.
After reading the Gingerbread Man and discussing the sly fox swimming through the deep river, as a group we decided to experiment with some floating and sinking in the water tray. The children chose an item and anticipated whether it would float on top of the water or sink to the bottom of the tray.
