| Year 4
The children have been eager to take part in practical sessions in their science lessons. They have been illuminated by their electrical experiments and digested how their body consumes food!
Year 4 thoroughly embraced their autumn topic of electricity. They learnt the names of the different components and learnt to draw a simple series circuit. Investigations included determining which materials were insulators and conductors. This information they presented successfully during the Year 4 assembly. More recently, the children have been learning about teeth and the digestive system. They made fantastic models for homework showing the stages of the digestive system. Some of them were very imaginative and used marble runs and electricity to demonstrate how the food travels through the body. The most popular practical lesson was one where they made ‘waste’ from left-over lunch!
