Reception have been observing seasonal changes.
In Reception, we have been talking about Autumn and discussing what happens in the season of Autumn and how it is different to Summer or Winter.
As part of our learning, we went on a walk into the local woods to hunt for signs of Autumn. We enjoyed spotting different coloured and shaped leaves and thinking about where they had come from. Some children found conkers and were brave enough to feel their spikey shells!
As we walked, we stopped to listen to what we could hear on the way. We heard the water in the lake, the ducks and some cars, as well as the leaves crunching under our feet.
We are now planning to create some autumn pictures using the natural materials we collected on our walk. We will be describing different textures and thinking about autumnal colours.
