This half-term in French, Year 3 have been learning to express their opinions on food. They then looked at a French menu and tried to work out what dishes were offered at that restaurant. Once they were confident with what each dish was, the children learnt to order food, and to be good waiters and waitresses. They practised both their speaking and listening skills.
The waiters had to listen carefully to the orders to work out which dish on the menu their partner wanted. They enjoyed their role play at the restaurant! Later this half-term, the children will design their own menu in French, and using a dictionary, will create dishes that they think people in the future will eat.
