The children have been learning to write and follow different instructions in their English lessons. As part of their understanding, they created a story map with pictures and actions, which they learned and performed.
Following a very ‘special’ phone call earlier in the week from Buckingham Palace, the children rehearsed the instructions and actions for making a cake to mark the Royal Wedding. By giving verbal instructions with actions that they had rehearsed to Mrs Cliffe-Roberts and Mr Bryan, they were able to make two wonderful cakes. It was an important part of their learning to be able to recall the instructions in the correct order with the appropriate action. At the end of the day the cakes were cut and the children were all able to enjoy taking a piece home to mark a very special day.
