| Year 5

Year 5 learnt about how to create complex but memorable passwords to help keep their information safe online.

The children started their learning of what makes a good password by having to guess what password the teacher had created in order for them to enter the classroom. The passwords were easy at first with examples such as the class name or the teacher name. The passwords got increasingly more difficult as they started to contain a combination of letters and numbers.

The children learnt that strong passwords are an essential part of being safe on the internet - they help protect them and their private information. The children then created their own fake passwords and worked on how to make them safer by including different symbols and characters. They also learnt that passwords need to be changed and updated regularly.
