| Year 2
The children have had an exciting week learning maths outdoors. The purpose of this activity was to practise quarter, half, three quarter and whole turns, either clockwise or anticlockwise.
The children began by responding to instructions given by their teacher. They were then able to follow instruction cards asking them to move in a particular way. Finally, the children felt confident enough to write their own set of instructions and challenge their friends. The children worked very well together and showed great enjoyment.
In our computing lessons the children have been exploring 2Sequence, a music program in Purple Mash. They have experimented with different sounds in a sequence and learnt to speed up and slow down compositions. The children listened to music evoking different emotions and thought about why the music made them feel a particular way. They then created their own ‘happy’ piece of music.
