This week, Chaplins Theatre company visited Sherborne House School to share a festive pantomime with the children. The children in Reception were treated to a very special performance of Jack and The Beanstalk.
Theatre productions are a truly unique, immersive learning experience for all audiences, especially children. The children are able to learn about the story 'Jack and The Beanstalk' in a very different way; the characters are physically brought to life and the songs help to reinforce messages and memorable pieces throughout the story. A performance such as this allows the children to use their imagination and build on their creative thinking skill set.
The Reception children really enjoyed joining in with the songs and they were fascinated by the different characters. The children thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the pantomime style performance.
