Year 5 children had the opportunity for a virtual meet with Thomas Taylor, author of our Guided Reading book ‘Malamander’.
The children have been gripped by the book from the very first page so they were excited to have the chance to hear about the origins of the story from the author himself.
Thomas Taylor took the time to read a chapter from his book to the children and discuss the creation of the town and several of the key characters.
Year 5 took their opportunity to ask questions directly and received some rather mysterious answers; including news of a sequel to ‘Gargantis’.
The call was finished off with Thomas Taylor showing the children all of the treasures he has found beachcombing himself, which all provide inspiration for items and characters in his stories.
