| Year 4

In art this half term we are learning all about abstract art and the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky.

Our art lessons this half term have been all about explosions of colour.

Kandinsky believed that colour, shape and emotions were inextricably linked. He would use shapes to convey emotion and colour to explore how to manipulate that emotion.

We have been using our own shapes and colour to create abstract pictures that show excitement, happiness and even boredom.

We discovered that even though our creations meant one emotion to us, they spoke of different emotions to others.

We are looking forward to creating one big piece of art that we can all contribute to in the coming weeks.
