This week Year 3 were tasked with choosing the right material for a new book bag so that on dark mornings and evenings the children can still be seen walking to school. The purpose of this activity is to experiment with reflective materials and test the children’s understanding of reflection. The pupils were encouraged to predict which material they thought would be the most reflective before testing them. They chose the most suitable material for the job. The children made a reflection tester and enjoyed experimenting with the torches in darkness. They were encouraged to record their results in their own way, some chose a table and all of the children were able to explain what they found out.
