| Reception
Over the past few weeks, Reception have been nurturing tadpoles in the classroom. We learnt about the life cycle of a frog and enjoyed watching videos of tadpoles hatching from frogspawn. They have been patiently observing the changes over time and noticed how the tadpoles grew legs and lost their tales.
The children enjoyed feeding the tadpoles and were interested in how their food changed from a few flakes of fish food to meat once they were bigger. When the tadpoles grew their legs, the children enjoyed adding rocks and logs to their pond so the froglets could climb up out of the water.
This week we got our first frogs and we took the frogs down to the lakes to set them free. We shared the video so the children could see the frogs entering the lake.
