| Year 4

This half-term in French, Year 4 worked in groups to brainstorm what food words they remembered. They then revised how to express their opinions on food, focussing on the accuracy of their spelling by doing a running dictation.

Later, the children looked at a French recipe and had to work out what the ingredients and the instructions were. In the next few weeks, they have written their own recipe of a dish they think people in the future will eat.

In Spanish, the children have learnt how to say what they wear, and to understand short texts describing clothes. The texts helped them to work out that in Spanish, adjectives have several possible spellings, depending on what is described. They also discovered that adjectives are placed after the nouns. They then practised using adjectives to describe what clothes people in the future will wear.
