Year 1 have been looking at different animals and thinking about ways in which they can be classified. The children have worked on open ended tasks where they have decided on their own criterion for classifying and justified their decisions. They have also learnt about the different animal groups and now know the key features of each. Children have worked in teams to classify a range of creatures based on their features and have also independently completed tasks in which they must classify and explain how they know which group different creatures belong to.
