On Thursday 2nd November we were very pleased to welcome Amanda Trigg to our school assembly in the role of special guest speaker. Mrs Trigg has a special interest in bees and beekeeping as is a member of the Winchester Beekeeping Association. The purpose of the visit was to help our children understand more about the world around them. The children were fascinated to learn many facts about bees; for example, bees can live in a variety of places such as trees and hives. The children now have a better understanding of the vital role bees play in nature and the importance of pollination. Mrs Trigg was very informative explaining what happen around the year in a hive and the various functions of the different bees such as the queen, workers and drones. Everyone at Sherborne House school would like to extend a huge thank you to Mrs Trigg for her visit.
