Reception have had a very busy few weeks preparing for their Nativity and recreating The Gingerbread Man.
This half term, the Reception children have enjoyed learning about celebrations. We began the term learning about festivals such as Halloween and Bonfire Night, before moving onto practising our Nativity for Christmas - A Little Bird Told Me.
The children learnt their lines wonderfully, performed amazingly in front of large audiences and they were so proud to show their families their performance. Their singing and actions were fantastic and their confidence on stage blew everyone away!
Alongside all of this, Reception have been busy becoming fantastic readers and writers and continuing with the festive spirit, they have written their own versions of The Gingerbread Man. They learnt the story during their Talk for Writing unit and the children innovated the story map to create their own versions which they then used to write up their stories in sentences. We are all very proud of the progress they are making.
The children have had a very busy term and I’m sure they are ready for a well deserved holiday. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
