| Year 1
It has been a very exciting week in Year 1, launching our space topic. We turned the clock back to 1966 by watching the original footage of the first moon landing. We then interviewed Mrs Armstrong (wife of Neil) to discover what it was like to witness the event. We have learnt all about the journey to the moon and what Neil and Buzz did when they got there.
In English, we have been learning about the different features of a newspaper report. We have been looking at a very entertaining text about wonder dog Juno James - the first dog on the moon. We have been spotting different features such as: a catchy headline, an exciting opening, quotes from eyewitnesses and exciting verbs, adjectives and adverbs. We will then go on to planning and writing our own news report about the first moon landing. In maths, we have been learning about division. We have been helping Buzz and Neil to share the moon rocks equally between their friends.
