| Year 2
During our maths lessons, the children have been making their own 3D shapes using a variety of equipment including straws, paper nets and interconnecting 2D shapes. Exploring shapes in this way has enabled the children to identify the connection between 2D and 3D shapes in more depth. They developed a good understanding of the 2D faces required to create different 3D shapes and explored further, the concepts of edges and vertices. The children enjoyed the challenge of creating recognisable 3D shapes with the equipment provided and presenting their completed models to their peers.
