It has, of course, been our first whole one as a Bellevue school. Having successfully passed our compliance and regulation inspection last May, this has enabled this year’s focus to centre wholly upon the quality of teaching and learning, and as a school, we have been working on two particular initiatives this year, - challenge, and writing, which we will continue to focus upon next year, too.

However, the life of the school has been far from solely focused on the above initiatives, and there has been much to celebrate in all departments. In performing arts, there have been many opportunities to develop performance skills. New this year, was the Bellevue Southern Schools Music Evening, at which all the Bellevue schools within London and the South, came together to put on an evening of music and dance. These joint initiatives foster new ideas and experiences for the children, and give the schools within the group, the opportunity to learn from each other, and assimilate new ideas.

In sport, we have had a tremendously successful year, as alluded to by Mrs Whytehead at Sports’ Day – which was indeed an example in itself, of the very high standard of performance and excellent behaviour which the children of Sherborne House never fail to demonstrate. These successes were matched by exceptional effort and work, too, from Pre- Reception through to Year 6, and I would like to say huge congratulations to all our children for their happy and enthusiastic participation in all aspects of school life.

All the above come as a result of mutual hard work and support of one another by the whole school community, the children, parents and staff. I would therefore like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their part in making this such a happy and successful school. I would also like to wish every success to Year 6, as they move on to new schools, to their families and to all our leavers today. I so very much hope that they will remember their time at Sherborne House with great affection, and that they will keep in touch and let us know about their future successes.

As we look to new futures and experiences to come, my thanks to each and every pupil, parent and member of staff, for all that you have brought and given to Sherborne House throughout this year. Have a relaxing and much-deserved holiday!
