It is hardly possible that another year has flown by! Where does the time go? It really is true that as you get older, it goes ever more quickly, and the advice to hold on to each day and enjoy it, becomes more and more relevant.
For our Year 6 children, and all our leavers, today is a very special and important day, as they reflect on their time at Sherborne House and celebrate their many achievements – and what a lot of achievements there are! For some, Sherborne House has represented their whole academic experience to date, and it is wonderful as teachers, to look back on the little children they were and see what they have now become. Confident, self-possessed, able and ready to march on and tackle the exciting opportunities which lie ahead, with the knowledge of challenges tackled and achieved, worries felt but overcome, and friendships established which will endure for life.
We hope that all our children today will be proud of themselves, whether for their academic, sporting or musical success – or for their contribution to the happiness and wellbeing of others, which is the greatest success of all. Being unknown, the future can be both exciting and daunting, but we know that our children will meet whatever lies ahead with courage, resolve and compassion, and as teachers and parents, we will have great cause to be proud of them all.
We thank our children for their wonderful company, the fun times they have given us, the pride we can take in them, and for so many happy memories. We wish them all every happiness and success in the adventure which lies ahead.
