The 2014 competition was hosted by Windsor High School in Halesowen last Saturday 10th May. The championships saw record entries with competitors from North Yorkshire to the South Coast.
Sherborne House School were entered in the Under 9 section of the competition in both Level 1 and Level 2. This year, they were eligible for the Team Trophies in both categories: with the combined scores from their solo routines being added to their participation in the Group category.
In level 1 Trinny M gained a score of 11.050 in her Hoop routine. Taya P, Emily P, Holly M & Jessica lB competed together in the Hoop Group routine winning the Silver Medal with a score of 10.450. Jessica went on to take the Gold Medal by winning the Ball routine, scoring a magnificent 12.800.
Taya P also performed in the Level 2 category where she came joint first with Olivia E from Great Houghton School, both girls scored 11.650. Greta B gained the Silver with her Free routine in her very first Rhythmic competition. She received a score of 9.250 for her solo, whilst her Free Duet (that she performed with Taya P) won the Gold Medal scoring 9.600.
At the end of the day, Sherborne's combined scores of 34.300 in Level 1 and 30.500 in Level 2, secured them both trophies and made them National Team Champions. They share the title in Level 1, with the team from Great Houghton School in Northampton.
