The Prep Department caters for children aged
between 7 and 11 years. The younger children in Key Stage 2 are taught by class teachers who take them for most of their lessons, but as they move up through the school they are taught increasingly by subject specialists. This enables the children not only to benefit from the expertise of highly experienced specialist staff but also gradually to develop the independence necessary for their secondary education.
Class tutors keep track of their academic progress and provide pastoral care. Class sizes remain small and this ensures that each child benefits from a great deal of individual attention, both inside and outside the classroom.
