REPORT: In the Round Robin section the U11 A team comfortably won their matches, except for their second match against the hosts, which they narrowly lost. This meant they qualified for the semi-finals. They played a controlled match and achieved a deserved win against Walhampton. The final was a replay of the group game against the hosts Twyford and the game again was very close. At full time the score was 4-4 and it was decided that two minutes of extra time would be played; unfortunately, Twyford scored the deciding goal leaving S.H.S. as runners up. Well done to the team for their tenacity and improved play.    PW

TEAM:  Lily, Ellie, Freya, Natasha, Ioanna, Rhyseren, Lucy and Evie

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: Ellie for her strong defensive play.

Opposition’s Team U11 A NETBALL

REPORT: The U11 A team played six matches in the Round Robin stage of this tournament. They were convincing winners of Pool A, conceding only one goal and as a result they qualified for the semi-final to decide who would be in the final. The semi-final was a nail-biting encounter between two very evenly matched teams and the score went with the centre pass. At the end of the match the scores were drawn 4 – 4, so it was decided that an additional 2 minutes would be played. Sherborne House scored the first goal in extra time which sealed their place in the final. The final was an equally nerve-wracking encounter with the scores tied at full time, 5-5. Once again extra time was played to decide the match but this time our opponents scored the winning goal. Well done to the girls for the standard of their netball and for qualifying for the I.S.A. National finals in March. Many thanks to Mrs Fisher and Mrs Davies for their assistance. PW

Report: Throughout the entire day, the boys came on leaps and bounds and were listening to feedback from referees and myself and actively working to improve which was brilliant to see. In a group of some fierce opposition, we lost our three groups matches by 1 score each. The team played really well at this stage and everyone’s tackling and attacking rugby developed immensely from game to game. As we progressed into the bowl competition, we lost our first game to Meon Cross by 1 score but ended the game camped on their try line. Following this, some fantastic tackling from everyone, especially Thomas and explosive and elusive running from Archie, we beat the home side (Boundary Oak) by 1 score and showed true grit and determination to do so. Unfortunately, we ended up losing to HCS in our final game but I think every parent who came to watch would agree that the boys showed great character throughout the day!

Team: Archie, Thomas, Brad, Charlie, Taran, Jacob, Will, Jack, Kabir

Player of the Match: Thomas – immense tackling, positively influential attitude and a brilliant display of heart!
