Report: The Under 10/11 C played a fantastic game of football today to beat Boundary Oak School at their home ground. The boys showed a growing positional awareness, some excellent tackling skills and managed to manufacture a few great goal scoring opportunities. Frustrations followed as shot after shot was either saved by the goalkeeper or sailed wide of the woodwork. Zayd’s hard work was finally rewarded with a late goal and the game ended soon after. Well done to all involved, always good to finish the season on a win.

Team: Arjun, Ethan, Sonny, George (C), Findlay, Oscar, Zayd, Avi.

Player of the Match: George for his endless work rate and fabulous unselfish attitude to the game.

Meoncross U10/11

Report: The boys took the form from the previous game into this match and completely dominated both halves. It was almost unbelievable that the score was goalless at half time as the team had created move after move only to be thwarted in their attempts by excellent goal keeping. Again for much of the second half the boys were denied the lead by superb goal keeping and last ditch defending. However, the deadlock was finally broken as Charlie angled a shot back across the dive of the goal keeper. Right at the end of the game the boys mounted one more attack and somehow they managed to squeeze the ball over the line to record a two nil victory.

Team: Archie, George, William, Jack, Aadi, Charlie and Taran

Player of the Match: As chosen by the Meoncross players Charlie for superb runs on and off the ball as well as a number of shots that struck the post.

Meoncross U10/11

Report: In an excellent encounter both teams worked their socks off to create chances and repel the attacks. Sherborne House took the lead both halves first through Thomas and then again through Henry unfortunately the team couldn’t hold on to the lead and Meoncross equalised. Try as they might the boys could not quite force the winner but all eight boys contributed to a really entertaining and engaging match.

Team: Manraj, Charlie, Jacob, Henry, Thomas, Thomas, Seb and Kishan

Player of the Match: Seb for superb runs on and off the ball as well as a number of shots that came close to giving the team the win.

Boundary Oak

Report: A brilliant game where we were unlucky not to have walked away with a win. Lots of fantastic passing in attack and some committed tackling in defence from everyone kept us on top and in the opposition box. However, Boundary Oak looked dangerous on every counter attack and eventually managed to pop one in the back of our net. At half time I challenged the boys to work harder off the ball and they reacted to this brilliantly. Superb defending and pressure around the Boundary Oak box created all the pressure we needed to level the game. Both teams then played their hearts out right up to the final whistle.

Team: Freddie, Brad, Aman, Shravan, Alfie, Arthur, Joe, Ed  and Ed

Player of the Match: Aman – As well as being a serious attacking threat, Aman was in our own box defending like a champion! Up and down the field all day!

Boundary Oak

Report: This was a game full of boys desperate to enjoy their football. After going 4-nil down, most teams would buckle and give up. However, this group of young gentleman didn’t let anything dampen their spirits and a great attitude alongside some committed defence allowed for two break-away goals! Watching the boys leap, scream and slide in celebration was a fantastic thing to see!

Team: Arun, Kabir, Olly, Faisel, Davansh, Alex R, Alex U and Blake

Player of the Match: Olly - For some incredible commitment in defence. Olly was a force to be reckoned with today and few of their players managed to get past him!
