Performing Arts Summer

The term started with preparation for the LAMDA drama exams, which were held in school over the weekend of 10th & 11th June 2017. Over 80 children took part in these exams. The exams ranged from Musical theatre, through Dramatic Solo, Duologues, Poetry and Devised Drama examinations. It was a very busy weekend and we await the results with excitement.
Our examination sessions continued with 16 children taking Associated Board Examinations on 24th June. As term ends we have another 40 children taking a range of music exams. All these exams take a huge amount of preparation on behalf of both the children and the teachers. A special mention must go to Sam G who passed his Grade 7 piano with Distinction.
Our annual summer concert was a great success with a wide range of performers. Our chamber choir started the concert off by welcoming everyone with a rousing version of "Consider yourself". We were treated to instrumental performances including Saxophone, Flute, Trumpet, Piano and Guitar and our school Orchestra had everyone's feet tapping with their version of "Rolling in the Deep". Our Rock Choir made the audience sit up with their version of "Eye of the Tiger" and the Chamber Choir also performed "Rhythm of Life" and "We are the future". Solo singers, musical theatre, dance and dramatic solos rounded the entire event off. A huge congratulations to all the performers for their polished performances.
