Observing Clouds in Year 4

Year 4 have begun the term with a focus on clouds which has built on work on the water cycle in science last term and linked work in Geography and English for the last two weeks. The children have recapped how clouds are formed; learned about different cloud types; made and used oktas to measure cloud cover and used descriptive language to write shape poems about clouds. The children have understood how clouds are linked to the weather and are used by forecasters to predict future weather. They have thought about how writers can use the weather to indicate feelings and emotions and will be encouraged to use these skills in their future work. See the photos and videos in our gallery.
